In the early 2000s the author Paul French sitting at the British National Archives stumbled upon an unlabeled box of dusty yellow paged files. Inside was hundreds of pages about the unsolved Beijing murder case from 1937 of a British girl named Pamela Werner. On the basis of these documents Paul French wrote his international bestseller Midnight in Peking. On the basis of this book, adding in our own research of newly discovered Chinese sources not mentioned in the book, we will trace the main leads and sights of the investigation. From the Legation Quarter and the Fox Tower where the body was found to the notorious Badlands where Pamela Werner was last seen alive.
